Customizing VPME Multilingual Functionality

Three options on the PM-Admin / ProMatrix Setup menu involve VPME Multilingual functionality. These three options let you control what VPME puts into the Language, Message Translations, Strings and String Translations tables when it creates a starter VPME Multilingual application for you.

The three ProMatrix Setup Language menu options are the following:

New Project Language Builder:  Allows you to define the languages that will appear in the Select Translation Languages dialog when you create a new VPME Multilingual application (see New Project).

New Project Message Builder - Message Translations: Allows you to enter translations for the messages you add to the New Project Message Builder. The New Project Message Translations are included in the Message Translations table when you create a new VPME Multilingual application.

New Project String Builder Strings and String Translations: Allows you to enter strings that will be included in the Strings table when you create a new VPME Multilingual application. Also, allows you to enter translations for the strings you add to the New Project String Builder. The New Project String Translations are included in the String Translations table when you create a new VPME Multilingual application.

These Language options allow you to predefine the languages, messages, message translations, strings and string translations that will be automatically put into every new VPME Multilingual application that you create. That eliminates the need to enter all your common language elements separately for each new application.

The ProMatrix Setup Language options are described in detail in the Customizing VPM Enterprise chapter in the VPME Technical Reference manual.
