The New, Add, Remove, Editor and Run buttons on the Report Manager let you manage the reports in an application.
When you want to create a new report or label for an application, begin by clicking the New button on the Report Manager. VPM Enterprise displays the New Report / Label dialog.
Enter the file name of the report or label you want to create. Click the Report or Label option button to indicate which you’re creating. Click OK. The new report name is displayed and highlighted on the Report Manager.
After you’ve named the report, click the Editor button to access the VPM Enterprise Report Editor to create your report. See “Ways to Create Reports for the Report Manager” below to learn how to use the Report Editor to create a report.
To add an existing report to an application, click the Add button. VPM Enterprise displays the Open file dialog to let you find the report to add.
Use the Open dialog to find the report file. Select the file and click Add. The report name is displayed and highlighted on the Report Manager.
If you want to remove a report from an application’s Report Manager list, highlight the report and click the Remove button.
VPM Enterprise asks you to confirm your intent to remove the report. If you click Yes, VPM Enterprise asks if you want to delete the report file. If you click Yes, VPM Enterprise will delete the report file. Otherwise, VPM Enterprise will remove the report from the Report Manager list, but it will not delete the report file. You can then later restore the report to the Report Manager list through the Add button.
If you want to edit a report, select the report and click the Editor button. VPME displays the Report Editor dialog.
· Edit: Click the Edit button to open the report in the Visual FoxPro Report Designer. You use the VFP Report Designer to modify the report.
Tip – Right-Click to Edit: If you right-click on a report or label in the Report Manager list, VPME opens the report or label in the Visual FoxPro Report Designer bypassing the Report Editor dialog.
· Options: Click the Options button to open the Report Setup Options dialog. You use the Report Setup Options dialog to customize the VPME Report Setup dialog for each report. The Report Setup dialog is a front-end for reports that gives users control over the presentation and contents of a report. See Report Setup Options.
· Run: Click the Run button to display the Report Setup dialog, which is the frontend to running the report. See Using the Report Setup Dialog.
