ProMatrix Condition Field List Builder

The following steps show you how to use the ProMatrix Condition Field List Builder to build the list of fields that will be provided by a formís Locate, Filter and Group Delete Condition Builder.

1. Set Up the Data Environment

Complete the following basic steps before using the Condition Field List Builder:

∑       Form Class: Select the form class you want in the Form Designer. Use the Form_Toolbar class or a subclass thereof.

∑       Form Name: Enter a unique form name in the formís Name property through the Properties window or through one of the VPME Form Builder.

∑       Data Environment & Form Properties: Set up the data environment for your form and set required Data Environment and form properties.

2. Run the ProMatrix Condition Field List Builder

1.   Right click on the Form Designer and select Builder from the popup menu.

2.   Select ProMatrix Condition Field List Builder from the Builder Selection dialog. VPM Enterprise displays the ProMatrix Condition Field List Builder.

3. Select Page for Related Pages Form

If you are building a field list for a form based on the Form_Toolbar_RelatedPages form class, the Page combo box is enabled. You must build a field list for each page on the form. Select each page on your Related Pages form in the Page combo box and repeat steps 4 through 6 below. If your form is based on any other form class, the Page combo box will be disabled.

Tip: If you are using the GetConditionPageNumber method of the form to allow two or more pages in a Related Pages form share the Condition Field List, you only need to build a list for one of the sharing pages.

4. Select Table/View/CursorAdapter

You can select fields for the Condition Builder field list from any of the tables, views and CursorAdapters in a formís Data Environment. Select a table, view or CursorAdapter in the combo box at the top-center of the Condition Field List Builder. The Condition Field List Builder shows the fields from the table, view or CursorAdapter you select in the combo box in the Unselected Fields List.

5. Select Fields

Move the fields you want in the formís Condition Builder field list from the Unselected Fields list to the Selected Fields list.

∑       All Fields: If you want all the current fields in the selected table, view or CursorAdapter and all fields you may later add to the selected table, view or CursorAdapter to be in the formís Condition Builder field list, simply check the All Fields check box.

Tip: The All Fields check box does more than select all the fields currently in a table, view or CursorAdapter. Checking the All Fields check box means that any fields you may later add to the table, view or CursorAdapter will automatically be included in the Condition Builder field list. If you check the All Fields check box, you donít have to revisit the Condition Field List Builder to reselect new fields you add to a table, view or CursorAdapter.

∑       Order Fields: The fields in the Selected Fields list will appear in the Condition Builder Field list in the order in which they are listed. Therefore, change the order of the fields to the order that you want.

∑       All Fields Order: If you check the All Fields check box, the fields will appear in alphabetical order.

6. Select Fields from Additional Tables, Views and CursorAdapters

If you want to include fields from additional tables, views and CursorAdapters in the formís Data Environment in the Condition Builder field list, repeat steps 4 and 5 above for each additional table, view or CursorAdapter.

7. Build List

After you have selected the fields you want to include in the formís Condition Builder, click the Build List button. The ProMatrix Condition Field List Builder will build the Condition Builder field list for the form.
