Select a table in the treeview on the Data Builder List Page and click the Edit page to set up table properties.
Set up the table properties on the Properties and Utilities page as described below.
Enter a brief description of the table; up to 100 characters. The description you enter is displayed to the right of the table name on the Data Builder List page.
Enter comments you want to record about the table in the Comments box. Enter as much text as you want. The comments you enter can be used to provide users of your application important information about the table.
Normally, thereís nothing for you to enter in the Location field. You only need to make an entry if VPM Enterprise cannot find the selected table file.
When VPM Enterprise displays the Edit page for a table, VPM Enterprise tries to find the table file using the path shown in the Location field. If the Location field is blank, VPM Enterprise tries to find the table file in the current FoxPro path (that is, the project and VPM Enterprise directories).
Most application tables reside in the FoxPro path. If a table resides in the FoxPro path, the Location field on the Edit page is blank. VPM Enterprise knows where to find the file when itís needed and doesnít need an entry in the Location field.
If the table resides outside the current FoxPro path, the Location field contains the path to the table.
Tip Ė Missing or Invalid Location: If the selected table file cannot be found when the Edit page is displayed, the Location field is editable. In this event, you should enter the path to the table file in the Location field, or alternatively, move the table file to the location specified in the Location field or to the projectís \DATA directory. If the Location field contains an incorrect entry, and you donít know the correct path to the table file, you will have to blank out the Location field before you can leave the Edit page.
Recycle Deleted Recs
To turn off recycling of deleted records for a table, uncheck the Recycle Deleted Records check box on the Table Properties and Utilities page. By default, VPM Enterprise recycles deleted records.
See Recycling Deleted Records to learn more about recycling of deleted records in VPM.
