Special Situation Regarding Numeric Foreign Keys

If you use a numeric foreign key field in a compound tag to set a relation in the Data Environment of a form, you must create a character foreign key tag for the numeric field and select the character tag in the FK Tag combo box when you set up Referential validation for the field. In this case, your foreign key tag expression must convert the foreign key field to character type.

For example, if companyno is a numeric field and if the RelationalExpr = str(companyno,4,0) and the ChildOrder tag expression = STR(companyno,4,0) + companyname, then the expression for the foreign key tag must be STR(companyno,4,0) for Referential validation.
